Patrick Sheridan is a titan in the music industry, renowned for his exceptional skills as a performer, educator, author, and instrument designer. Through his publications and thousands of concerts and workshops, he has captivated millions globally, epitomizing an unwavering dedication to excellence and innovation that has reshaped the musical landscape for musicians and teachers.
Heralded as one of the most illustrious soloists in tuba history, Sheridan has captivated audiences with thousands of performances in more than 50 countries. Since beginning his career as a member of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, Sheridan’s spellbinding virtuosity and artistry have flourished, transcending stylistic boundaries and garnering accolades from all corners of the globe.
A true luminary in music education, Sheridan’s dedication to education is profound. His wind and conducting students hold positions in prestigious international ensembles and serve on the faculties of numerous universities across 30 countries. With a wealth of teaching experience, he has served on the faculties at Arizona State University, The Royal Northern College of Music, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and UCLA, where he conducted the Brass Ensemble and Wind Ensemble and taught low brass.
His groundbreaking work as the co-author of the acclaimed instructional method, The Breathing Gym®, has revolutionized instrumental improvement, offering millions of musicians a holistic approach to performance success and stress relief.
Sheridan's impact extends beyond the stage, shaping the very instruments on which music is created. He is an Honorary Member of Kappa Kappa Psi and a board member of the Western International Band Clinic - University Division. Recently, he was honored by The American Bandmasters Association with the 2024 Edwin Franko Goldman Memorial Citation for his outstanding service to concert bands and concert band music in America.
