    Dr. Mark A Stickney is Director of Bands and an Associate Professor of Music at Plymouth State University (NH). He teaches courses in conducting, low brass, and music education. He also serves as the coordinator for the graduate program in Instrumental Music Education, the All New England Band Festival, and the New England Band Directors Institute.

    Prior to his appointment at PSU, Mark was Director of Bands at Southern Utah, and has taught at the Community College of Rhode Island, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, and Salve Regina University (RI). His bands have performed at the Utah Music Educators Association Conference and he guest conducted the Rutgers Wind Ensemble at their Carnegie Hall debut.

    An active clinician and guest conductor, Mark has worked with middle school, high school, and college bands throughout the United States and regularly conducts honors festivals throughout the country, including The Weber District (UT) Honor Band, The Eastern Region CT High School Orchestra, and the Rhode Island Junior All State Band.

    Performing on trombone, euphonium, and tuba, Mark has been a member of the American Band, Fanfare Brass, the Narragansett Tuba Quartet, and as a member of the Rutgers Wind Ensemble he has appeared on multiple recordings on the Mark Custom Music Label.

    Mark received his DMA in Wind Conducting from Rutgers University, where he studied with William Berz. He received his MA in Tuba Performance from Montclair State University and his BA in Music from Gettysburg College.

    In 2016 Mark was appointed Artistic Director of the Seacoast Wind Ensemble, based in Kittery, ME.
