Bio:

I have worked in music (or, rather, it has worked in me) my whole life. My journey started by learning piano and singing in church children's choirs, then joining the local scholastic band program. After an injury prevented my from competing in athletics, I focused even more on music: I fell further in love with it. I experimented on many instruments before I found my specialties: saxophone, flute, and piano.    Throughout junior high and high school, I served as a student worship leader and went to Ouachita Baptist University to prepare for a career in music/arts ministry. I served professionally at several churches both during and after my collegiate career. Following several years working in the public sector, I was invited to join the faculty at Little Rock Christian Academy, where I taught Latin and served as assistant instrumental music director. Before my fourth year at this post, I pulled back from my musical responsibilities: I stepped out of pastoral ministry and reduced my instructional load from music teacher to music clinician. It was during this break that I once again found my passion for composing and performing.    Currently I am pursuing my master's degree in Music Composition at the University of Arkansas. I am planning to begin doctoral work in music immediately after I finish the master's program. It was during this break that I once again found my passion for composing and performing. I earned my master’s degree in Music Composition at the University of Arkansas, where I was a music theory resident with an emphasis in music cognition. After completing my master’s program, I spent a year teaching, conducting, and composing in the Kansas City area before moving back to Northwest Arkansas, where I currently work and freelance.
